The A110M trail from the A Trail to the Boreal Rd. closed due to logging.

Shabaqua to Kakabeka scheduled to be groomed Friday Jan 29 2010

Grooming has been very difficult due to the large amount of snow on the trees causing them to be bent over the trail.

Important Update

Caution:

Due to low snow conditions and landowner concerns in the Mt. Baldy area, the trail from the TransCanada Pipeline through to Balsam St. is CLOSED. Snowmobilers that want to travel between Mt. Baldy Ski Area and the TransCanada Pipeline corridor should check with the affected landowners for permission. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Freeloaders

With a decline in pre-December permit sales, we can expect many sledders to try entering OFSC trails without permits. To sell as many $250 permits as possible, it is imperative that we work together to discourage this illegal behaviour.

Here are some ideas to assist you during the next two or three weeks (our last realistic window of opportunity to sell many more seasonal permits).

1. The attached PSA will appear in the next (mid-January issue) of the Go Snowmobiling magazine. A similar notice will also be placed on the OFSC home page. We are providing it for your use and distribution to your clubs as you see fit. Please consider placing notice on your home pages (same message as Word file also attached).

2. Your district should contact your police services to ask for a special focus on permit enforcement during the next two or three weeks. Also, be sure to mobilize your trail patrol and request assistance from S.T.O.P. during this critical time period.

3. Pray for snow.

FYI, a very blunt editorial in the upcoming magazine will also address permit compliance and the OFSC has changed as many radio PSAs as possible to concentrate on selling more permits.
